Making money from dating is possible for marketers on any kind of budget. Even if you have no money to invest there truly is no reason not to get involved as a dating affiliate. I was reading a forum this morning and a thread caught my eye, asking how to make money on a shoestring budget. The writer was frustrated with her lack of earnings after trying to promote numerous products and using different methods to earn an income. I posted what I hoped would be some helpful advice (I know, what a great guy I am), and what I want to do today is just talk about it here for the next few minutes.
You might have been in internet marketing for a day, a week, a month or a year. If you’re feeling frustrated, if your startup capital for new ideas has plummeted to an all-time low, then I’m going to show you how to easily get started making money as a dating affiliate with the smallest of budgets.
1. Your Dating Niche And Sponsor(s). Decide on the kind of dating website that you’d like to setup and the appropriate dating affiliate program. The decision will be based on what you know most about on the subject of dating. Maybe you could establish a dating tips site or relationship advice. You could decide to write reviews about just one dating site or many. There are endless possibilities. Google around and you will see what other dating affiliates have come up with.
2. Keyword Research. Research all of the relevant keywords related to your chosen topic. At any time, night or day, when someone asks you for your keywords you should be able to reel them off hardly without thinking. You’ll need these keywords for optimizing your site and writing your articles and blog posts.
3. Hosting. Find yourself some reliable hosting. I use webair.com for my sites and have never had a problem. With you being on a tight budget you can get virtual hosting for as little as $9.95 a month.
4. Choose a Domain. Use your knowledge of relevant keywords to help in choosing a keyword domain. Get a dot com and forget about using hyphens.
5. Write Articles For Your Site. Write about 10 to 20 high-quality articles based on the dating subject you’ve chosen. Setup a website and ensure that it is properly optimized. Use the main page to promote the most relevant sponsor and link to your articles.
6. A Wordpress Blog. Using wordpress, setup on a blog and optimize it with seo wordpress plugins. Begin to write short articles, each one being based on each of your main site articles. Link your blog posts to the relevant articles. Ensure you use social bookmarking sites like digg whenever you make a blog post.
7. Write Articles For Directories. Write articles based on keywords you wish to target and submit them to ezine articles and go articles. You can choose other article directories but these are my favorite and will get your articles indexed within days. Ensure you write different articles for each directory. Link to your main dot com page from each article.
8. Get Free Dating Traffic. At this stage you have a website of quality article-content, a blog that you’re posting to at least every other day, and a steadily climbing number of articles that are bringing in traffic and increasing the number of relevant inbound links to your site. What you need now is to utilize as many sources of free dating traffic as possible. Just to give you that boost to begin earning sooner. You can use yahoo answers, groups (msn, yahoo, google), comments on related blogs, posts on relevant forums, squidoo lenses, viral marketing by creating free ebooks and reports, google images, and so many more free avenues.
9. Ask Readers What They Want To Know. You now have traffic pumping through your site, all of which is highly filtered. You need to start talking with your blog readers and find out what they want to know. This is massively important. Ask them straight out if you have to. If you’ve setup a site for dating tips, ask them which parts of dating do they want tips about? Do they want to know when to kiss their date and how to do it? Do they want advice on the best places to go on a first date? You get the idea!
10. Address Reader-Needs With Marketing-Efforts. Now that you have traffic and know what your traffic wants you need to structure your marketing efforts accordingly. Write blog posts, articles and ebooks based directly on what your niche-readers want to know most about. Doing this will keep your current legion of growing traffic happy and will, without fail, ensure you capture even more of the right kind of prospects to your marketing machine.
So anyone on a shoestring budget can make money by promoting dating sites. I wish more people knew this fact. There are moms and dads out there, for instance, right now looking for ways to support their family. I genuinely want people to know what I know and start earning money. For many frustrated marketers with a diminished budget for internet startups, these simple 10 steps will give them a reliable, sustainable business that will only make more money as times goes by.
So, remember, follow the 10 simple steps:
1. Decide on your dating topic and site to address that topic.
2. Research relevant keywords and commit to memory (and file!).
3. Get cheap and reliable hosting.
4. Choose a keyword domain.
5. Write 10 to 20 articles for you site.
6. Setup a wordpress blog and link posts to related articles on your site.
7. Write articles and submit them to article directories.

Hi. Can you say which pay per leads won’t penalize you if you don’t have a high conversion (I think the ones like adultfriendfinder and seniorfriendfinder change it to percentage if you don’t get 1:20 signups). Are there any payperlead programs that are okay with low conversions?
Hi Robin,
I responded to your email but I’ll comment in case anyone else wants the answer too. The simple answer is Dating Gold who pay you up to an incredible $5 per FREE lead and it doesn’t matter about the traffic or whether the leads are male or female. I convert anywhere between 1:4 and about 1:20, depending on the traffic-source of course. Throw enough traffic to this program and you’re going to make a ton of cash, it’s really that simple.
I think I’ll write a few tutorials on how best to monetize for Dating Gold and their free lead program. In the meantime, everyone, feel free to contact me or post here.
Hi Kristian,
Do you have any tips for PROMOTING a dating wesbite on a shoestring budget?
I have a free dating site Devil Called Love that I’m trying to get known and any helpful advice would be appreciated.
I hope this comment is not regarded as spam. If so, my apologies as it’s not intended to be.
So then Dating Gold would be the best program to use?
Also when you say to have a 10-20 page site, would a blog with that many pages be fine?
Then use other blogs to post every other day on and link to the main blog?
Also I’ll keep looking here but could you email me a list of dating article directories or regular directories for dating blogs. If there are any specifically for dating.
